After more than two years of housing uncertainty during the pandemic, one Lansing woman is reclaiming her independence and stability through Habitat for Humanity Capital Region’s Homeownership Program.

Anita has lived in her home in Dansville for nearly twenty years. Five years ago, her roof developed a significant leak in the master bedroom. The roof needed to be replaced at that time, but she could not afford the work. Instead, she had the leak patched.

The community gathered at the Breslin Center to celebrate everyone who volunteers their time and talent to the mission of Habitat Capital Region. Special recognition was given to eight volunteers and two corporate partners who were presented with Gratitude Awards recognizing their unique contributions in the last year.

When a large donation of new children’s backpacks was given to the Habitat ReStore in Williamston, Core Crew Volunteer, Bettie, purchased 340 of them – what she did next will warm your heart this Christmas season.

Habitat for Humanity Capital Region has received a gift of 5,000 from an anonymous donor to replace the roof of the Habitat ReStore in Williamston, Michigan.

Habitat for Humanity Capital Region is pleased to announce that it has received a 8,000 grant from The Home Depot Foundation to provide critical home repairs for local veterans through the Habitat Capital Region Repair Program.
