At Habitat for Humanity Capital Region, we’re committed to making thoughtful decisions that best support our core mission: building safe, decent, and affordable housing in our community. Those decisions are not always easy, but they are always made with long-term impact in mind.
In that spirit, we are sharing plans to close our St. Johns and Williamston ReStore locations and sell those properties. This change is part of a larger effort to further strengthen our organization and focus our capital resources where they can make the greatest difference.
By consolidating our retail footprint into the Lansing ReStore, we’ll be able to make significant enhancements to our store operations. We aim to streamline our inventory management, reduce costs, and ultimately invest more directly into the programs that help local families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership.Â
While our retail operations are changing, our mission is not; our programs will continue to serve the entire Capital Region. With major improvements planned for our Lansing location, we are excited to improve the experience you have while donating and shopping with us. Our goal is to create a stronger, more sustainable future for our ReStore and for the families we serve.
We are still working through the details and timing of this transition, and we will continue to share updates as plans move forward. In the meantime, all of our stores are open, and we are grateful for the continued support of our community. Whether you shop, donate, or volunteer, you help advance our mission.
Thank you for being part of the Habitat Capital Region family.
In gratitude,
Brent Taylor
