Volunteers are the heart of Habitat
We rely on hundreds of volunteers every year to carry out our mission. Volunteers are a crucial part of the work we do at Habitat for Humanity Capital Region!
We welcome people from all walks of life to join us in our mission to make affordable housing a reality for hard-working families in Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties, Michigan. Whatever your experience, stage of life, skill-set, or passion, there is a place for you here.
Volunteer with Habitat Capital Region and make a difference in the lives of local families!
Volunteer with Habitat for Humanity today, help change a family’s tomorrow.
Volunteers are needed to help to build homes and ramps, help in our Habitat ReStores, assist with office admin tasks, photograph events or builds, and more.
Be a Construction Volunteer
Volunteering with our construction team on a Habitat Capital Region build site is perfect for those who want to get their hands dirty and learn a new skill. It’s great for team-building, too! No experience is necessary - skilled and unskilled labor is welcome.
Volunteer at the Habitat ReStore
Habitat ReStores are a key part of how we are able to build and repair homes with people in need of decent, affordable housing. The ReStore is perfect for those who enjoy behind the scenes work or customer service. [Lansing, St Johns, & Williamston]
Something for Everyone
There is no shortage of volunteer opportunities at Habitat Capital Region, so whatever your passion and skill set, you can make a difference in the lives of families living in the Capital Region. We need volunteers to help with admin support, photograph events or builds, hospitality, and more!
Volunteer as a group
Volunteer with Habitat Capital Region for an amazing team building opportunity!
Volunteering together provides a way for your team or group to have fun together while pursuing a common goal. There are group volunteer opportunities in construction, in our Habitat ReStores, or at special events.
Whether this is your group’s first volunteer event, or you’re seasoned pros, Habitat Capital Region provides a fun and engaging experience for everyone. We will teach you everything you need to know on the build site, and there are a variety of tasks both indoors and outdoors to participate in that require all levels of skill and ability. No experience is necessary.
We welcome groups from businesses, churches, college student organizations and athletic teams, clubs, and other organizations.
Thanks to our Volunteer Support Partner: Jackson
Jackson is committed to investing in communities where Jackson employees live and work. Here at Habitat Capital Region, we are proud to partner with an organization that supports local nonprofits through corporate giving and a commitment to volunteer engagement.
Jackson sponsors the Habitat Capital Region volunteer program, and Jackson team members can be found volunteering in our Habitat ReStores, at build sites, and at our events every year.
Thank you Jackson, for all you do to help us build homes, communities, and hope!
EVERY VOLUNTEER MAKES A DIFFERENCE
After working side by side with future Habitat homeowners – seeing the sweat on their brows, the hope in their eyes and the gratitude in their souls – I’ve learned that I’m the one who is on the receiving end of things more than anyone else.
