Rock the Block
Oct. 1, 2018

In previous years we've seen a distinct pattern. Many times Habitat CR will work on one house, and once it's finished it isn't hard to notice that it stands out like a sore thumb compared to the drab surrounding homes. That isn't Habitat's goal. Habitat wants to revitalize entire neighborhoods! Since this realization Habitat has started a new initiative.
The Rock the Block Neighborhood Revitalization initiative is a collaboration among community partners to give a neighborhood in need a hand up. Neighborhood Revitalization allows Habitat to serve more families by responding to community aspirations with an expanded array of products, services and partnerships, empowering residents to revive their neighborhoods and enhance their quality of life.
Habitat volunteers came together to paint houses, work on landscaping projects, and complete exterior home repairs in the Baker neighborhood of Lansing. Thank you for all who participated; a special thank you to the crew leaders and Care-A-Vanners that helped make this event a great success!
We appreciate to all the sponsors and volunteers that participated, we couldn't have done it without you:
