Brittni's Letter to Habitat Capital Region Supporters
My name is Brittni, and just over a year ago, Habitat for Humanity changed my life in ways I could have never imagined. I’m writing to share my story with you, a story of hope, accomplishment, and the power of home, in hopes that you’ll be a part of this life-changing work by supporting Habitat for Humanity Capital Region.
Before purchasing my Habitat home, my four daughters and I lived in cramped apartments where space was limited, and it was hard for them to truly be kids. We did not feel safe to be outside in our neighborhood, and no place we lived ever felt like home. But since moving into our Habitat house, everything has changed. My girls now have the space to grow, play, and be themselves. Our house is full of life and laughter—exactly what I had always dreamed of for them.
Owning my home has given me a sense of accomplishment and peace that I didn’t realize I was missing. We have the space to host family holidays, birthday parties, and I even celebrated my wedding with family and friends right here at home. It’s not just about having a roof over our heads; it’s about creating lasting memories and a secure future. My house isn’t just a house—it’s a place of love, safety, and opportunity.
There are so many families in our community who, much like I did, dream of a safe and stable home where they can thrive. Habitat for Humanity provides the support and resources needed to turn those dreams into reality. They don’t just build houses; they build futures.
